Born out of the market’s demand for transparency of product content, Health Product Declarations (HPDs) are a standard format for reporting product content and associated health information for building products and materials; similar to an ingredient list for a food item.
Health Product Declarations (HPDs) provide a full disclosure of the potential chemicals of concern in products by comparing product ingredients to a set of priority “hazard” lists based on the GreenScreen for Safer Chemicals as well as additional lists from other government agencies.
HPDs provide architects and specifiers an extensive report on the human and environmental impact of the ingredients used to produce the material (in our case, fabric). In addition, HPDs qualify for numerous green building schemes, including LEED v4, WELL, Google Portico, and Living Product Challenge.
